Ace : What Asexuality Reveals about Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex

Chen, Angela

I spent the summer 2024 visiting my older sibling in NYC. While I was visiting for the summer, I had basically nothing to do except online classwork and jackshit else. At some point I decided to get off my ass and walk up 3rd avenue to 87th street and find something to read, after not picking up a book willingly for YEARS(literally bored out of my mind with classwork I was at my limit). I was casually strolling around the store not looking for anything except Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn because I kept seeing it recommended online as good fantasy, and up until this point I was a Fiction Only reader. Before checking out, I see a Small Pride collection at the front where I walked in. Right in the middle of the colletion was this book, Ace by Angela Chen. Being Ace myself I was really just excited that it was even included, but it wasn't really a kind of book I'd ever read before so I was hesitant in even buying it. In the end I did and I'm really glad for it. I haven't even finished this book, but this book single handedly kick off my independent reading journey that I started last year and opened my eyes to the amazing world of non-fiction.

An unfortunate update on this book however, my water bottle spilt in my backpack and now this book is SOAKED. Fortunately it was only the bottom half and is now fully dried out, just hella warped.
