on summer classes and fluency

i'm taking asl this summer and i just finished the learning section of the class, learning all the signs, vocab, grammar of the first semester, and let me just say they packed that 3 weeks full. the next 2 weeks are just tests and projects, but i'm gonna miss that class. i LOVED the teacher, prof. Latest Movie Review

Superman (2025)

Well... it was certainly a movie. Unfortunatly it wasn't a very good one, but not a bad one. It felt half baked at best with most of the ideas that were attempted to be expressed. There was a lot going on in that movie, and nothing we haven't seen before in different iterations, that were done better. I will say this though, will full confidence and complete ignorance(because I haven't watched them), this movie is a better interpretation that Snyderman. I am curently a college student studying Music in relation to Media, as well as minoring in RTF(radio, television, film), otherwise known as Media Studies. I'm a huge fan of music, film music, and preforming music! I play lots of instruments(that doesn't mean I'm good at any of them except one [arguably]) ranking in order of ability, the French Horn, Mellophone, Piano, Guitar, and Bass Guitar.

I love movies, and am currently on my film bro arc, so it will only get worse from here. I'm really interested in fandom culture and media and film anaysis, and I am also currently on my finishing books arc so I'll be doing that more often as well(hopefully).

This site created on August 12th, 2024, on Neocities and was largely inactive until the REBOOT of January 21st, 2025 in which I changed the ENTIRE layout of the website into something that actually liked. I've been pretty active ever since then.

The v1.0 css layout was created by EGGRAMEN, the v2.0 css layout was created by RIBO.ZONE and heavily modified by me. v.3.0(current layout) was created by me mostly, with heavy inspiration from Teppy's layouts(specifically iframes based layout) This site is mostly coded in Sublime Text and the Neocities editor because I couldn't be bothered. My profile updates page is none of MY business.

Small Web Manifesto

As of late, I find myself scrolling the depths of TikTok and Reels hell, desperatly in search of something that will fill me with the sweet satisfafction of clicking that like button, such as the videos that are trying to sell me something, ai voices reading AMTA threads, and some devestating breaking news about a new declaration signed into law by the government revoking our rights. I have realized that this has become somewhat of an addiction to me, but like everything else outside of drugs, alcohol, and gambling, this social media addiction is viewed as being unserious or just plain normalized in these trying times. Unfortunatly, the genereation of today is so plugged into the algorhithm, that one of my peers thought it was weird that I was reading a book for fun. FOR FUN???? LIKE C'MON NOW THAT'S NOT A WEIRD THING TO DO????

In this realization that this is a PROBLEM that I need to solve by myself, I banished myself from the social media platforms, temporarily. Of course cold turkey could work for some people, but has rarely ever worked for me so instead of deleting the apps LIKE I SHOULD... i just put screentime on them. Unfortunatly since I'M the one who enacted it, it was very easy for me to get around. But, I have resolved myself once more and am now(as of jan.23.25) 37 days deep into my semi self exile of only 21 minutes(3 x 7min stints) a day of TikTok and Insta scrolling. But hopefully sometime soon, I will have deleted both apps from my phone and will finally be free of my chains.(I thought TikTok would have been taken care of for me, but that ban was in affect for like 8 hours or so unfortunatly that still lies on me)

In conclusion, I hate the rope that social media has tied around my neck, and hope that one day I will be free of the shackles that weigh me down. Until then, I took up a hobby in web creation to form my own "social media" without all the fearmongering TiKTok adds trying to sell me something, the admogedon of YouTube, or disturbing things in the depths of Insta. I hope to expand this hobby site to become a project that I proud of, and to share myself with all 0 visitors reading this manifesto page.
