“… Should I be calling you ‘father’?” Dan asked and regretted the words as soon as they had left his mouth.
Phil smiled.
“You can, if you want.”
There was something about the way he said it that made Dan feel hot all over.
Or: Dan falls in love with Phil, who happens to be a celibate priest. Great.

@danielhowell: maybe i’d actually consider doing @bbcstrictly if they allowed same-sex couples. who wouldn’t want a sexy man spinning you around? it’s not just a girl’s dream. c'mon people let's see some pretty and fierce girls pair up and handsome and strong boys get it on. i dare you.
Dan Howell calls Strictly out on Twitter for not allowing any same-sex couples and accidentally volunteers himself to be one of the contestants if they were to change that. It was a joke. It had so clearly been a joke. Why did they take him up on it?! He’s sure he’ll trip over his own feet and hate every second, but then he meets his partner, the endearingly clumsy dancer Phil Lester.

part 1 of So Many Stars
"Do you remember how-" Dan began, then sighed softly, tucking his face away more in Phil's body so the next words that followed were muffled. "How we ehm - well, before I said we should like, just see what- what we both feel like doing, when I'm at uni,"
"I remember, yeah," Phil answered instead, maybe succeeding at that neutral tone a little bit better. Not leading, not expecting, but equally not rejecting or feeling put out about it.
Dan cleared his throat, his fingers fidgeting.
"What if I hadn't said that? What do you think we might be doing?" Dan asked quietly.
Light rain hit the window of the sliding door. The wind picked up just slightly.
Maybe the universe wanted some sort of resolution too.
or the one where phil makes dan's bad day just a little bit better*second place for most memorable fic in the Phanfic Awards 2017*
Dan has been floating about the International Space Station for about two months when he gets the first phone call from Phil, the newest member of mission control, and somehow a quick conversation helps Dan feel at ease and becomes the first of many.
It's just a shame that there's 400km between them and Dan won't be coming home for another seven months
Dan laughs a little and says, “Oh, I, ah. I make videos. For people. Online.”
“Oh!” Phil says, sounding a little surprised, but not put off. He laughs quietly, almost to himself, and says, “I do too, actually.”
It turns out, “I make videos for the internet” can have multiple meanings.
Phil fancies a boy on the opposite end of the country, four years younger than him, with a girlfriend. Lovely. This is gonna end so well.
A fic about 2009 and inching closer.
Phil Lester, the most beloved meteorologist at Southeast News, isn't sure of many things in his life. One thing he is sure of, however, is that he absolutely hates the new entertainment news anchor, Dan Howell.
In which things fall apart, and then back together.
Or, the one where they break up in 2012 and stumble across each other three years later. Featuring Dan as a radio show host and BBC presenter, and Phil as a weatherman on the Isle of Man.
Now available in Русский here and here.
Dan co-hosts The Breakfast Show. Phil's his new producer. They fall in love, assisted by a bunch of romcom tropes I refuse to apologise for.
Dan's an almost-homeless twenty year old almost-dropout, and putting his faith in Kathryn Lester is probably the best decision he's ever made.
